Enigma

This portrait has taken me two months to finish, which is way over the time I would normally spend on a picture.

It is of a pal of mine.  Despite being a complete enigma that we shall never understand, myself and those that know her would agree, she is the most honest and genuine person out there.  Despite the hardships she faces, she is always there to help those around her.  A true gift.

Here is a portrait to commemorate her.

Geeky Comics Pin-Up

I am very happy to announce that I am now working with the very talented writer and head of Geeky Comics, Victor Wright.

My first project on the comic is to produce a series of pin-ups for The Geeky Book of Horror.

Here is my first:

Lacerations: Front Cover

Mr. Hartley has given me the task of designing the cover to his first story: Lacerations.  After having read the first draft of a few chapters this is the design I have come up with.  he wanted the front cover to be a shot of the character and her mood.

I think ditching the rather comic-book make-up was a great move as it makes her much more believable.  I wanted her to be bare as it reflects her life story through the scars and tattoos on her body.  She needed to look plain, depressed, unhinged and most importantly very dangerous, without needed to show weapons.  These two factors combined take the typical exploitation of a pin-up and turn it into something with much more character.

The blood reflects her violent life, whilst the colour represents the cost of such a lifestyle.  Overall I am pretty pleased with it and I feel that it is one of my more detailed and refined works.

Scrapheap Babe #1

From time to time, like many other artists I get propositioned to do work for little or no pay.  Most of the time I simply turn the offer down.  Yet, sometimes I get a client who has such a nice personal idea and can pay a little up front, that I work for them at a reduced rate.

This piece I drew up for them for a small fee but on the condition that I can show it off and also sell prints of it.  The only other time I did this was my Nightmare piece a few years back.

This is one of three.  The colours were picked by the client to match the décor of his home.  I am still working on the other two.

Guardian Angel

Life at times can really through you in the gutter.  We have all been there.  It is only when you come back out of that darkness that you realise how good life really is.

I certainly believe that someone is looking out for me, I just hope they look this damn good when doing it.  If not I can cope...

But more importantly we all have people that help us out.  Tell them that they make a difference.  It could just make their day.  A smile and a bit of positive energy spreads faster than a moan.

The Offer

Daily drawing No 1!

A quick painting that I did today.  Far from refined but I am making sure that from this day forward I am creating every day and then uploading it.

Sphinx

A much improved version of my last effort.
I think the more manga style adds a the right mood to the picture.

Sphinx

She was at first much less human, then this happened, it all got a little weird and out of hand.

Drawn for a Project I am working on at the moment.
