Exhibition at the Gibberd Gallery

A large collection of my work has been on show at The Gibberd Gallery in Harlow. The exhibition is coming to an end soon but it has been quite an honour to have my work displayed in my home town again.   

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time is Marisa's solo show on at the Ripley Arts Centre in Bromley.

3rd March – 26th March 2015

"Marisa Cherry Saunders creates fairy tale images that evoke a sense of nostalgia with a folk art style and the use of traditional relief printmaking.

Varying from the provocative to the innocent, these images playfully entice the viewer to remember the tales that they grew up with and appreciate them once again.

Fairy tales have entertained us, they have delighted us and yet have also terrified us. They have taught us lessons; how to be brave, how to outwit our foes and how to fall in love. The basic concepts and formula of the classic fairy tales are still utilised in contemporary media, and their importance should never be forgotten."

Reflective Rhythms

My first ever solo show, Reflective Rhythms came to a close this Monday.  I was given an extension by the Ripley Arts Centre, which meant that it continued for a couple of days on top of what it was supposed to.

I am happy with how it went I sold a few pieces and received some truly wonderful feedback.

Again if you visted the gallery I thank you very much for your kindness and support, as well as Copyprint in Bromley and Marisa Saunders for helping me print and sort out everything I needed to, without you guys the whole thing would have been a far greater complication.

Hopefully I shall be able to list another gallery exhibition in the near future.

Whilst the pieces depict a dance and performance theme, the concepts in each apply to all of us, as we all indulge in the metaphorical dance through life. Dance is a powerful thing; it can be graceful and delicate, it can be passionate and seductive, it can be calm and gentle and yet it can also be frenzied and savage. However you feel it, it is about the beauty in being free and letting go.”

Solo Show at Ripley Arts Centre

Today I had an portfolio review at the Ripley Arts Centre.

I am thrilled to say that I was successful and I shall have an exhibition on from the start of January until the end of the month.  Exact dates to be confirmed.

The show will consist of 20-25 new pieces of artwork around a certain theme.

Once I have completed the first few images I shall reveal more information.

Angel

I had a dream a month back about an Angel.  I have an upcoming gallery exhibition and I needed to draw some nicer pictures for it.  Here is one of them.
