I thought it would be a change occasionally to post some photos of works in progress, so here's the first lot!

Some Lineart

The Doorway -  Trench - Alien 101

I drew these up today as a break from my larger pieces.

The two on the right are characters that I made up as a kid, Trench and Alien 101.  A clone soldier and an alien hitman.

Next Steps

So far I have been working solely on the face.  I am not sure how far I am going to take this but it is proving to be a good exercise in my patience and skill.

It is the first time I have worked on a picture with a break, normally I sit and work until it is done, even if it takes me most of a day.  however I feel in order to improve I must work in stints instead of one long stretch.

The start

 I started with the eye and thought I may as well carry on with the face.  Clearly I am working from photo reference - a pic of my close friend and confident Anna Harris, who also is over on Pages and Panels.

She has been going through a hard time lately so I thought I would do this for her.

Dredd Feature

I am a huge fan of the 2000AD comic book series Judge Dredd, so it was only natural that I would want to draw some Dredd inspired pictures!

I also saw Dredd 3D, starring a well-casted Karl Urban as the Dredd twice at the cinema. It was extremely under-rated, and deserved a lot more attention than it received!

Thankfully though, it appeared that at my latest con, the Entertainment Media Show, there were plenty of Dredd fans who seemed to like the prints I had created. Check them out below!
