Royal: Three's a Company

Pola- Royal's protagonist.

Now that I have set up everything for my gallery I have commenced work on Royal.  After two years I would like to put some time aside for it once again.

Royal: Three's a Company originally was released on the 26th Febuary 2013.  I had a small run of one-hundred produced and they all sold out.  having improved in both my artwork, presentation and writing I am looking at making it the comic I always wanted it to be.

It is a selfish venture, as I am not doing it for profit or with an audience in mind.  I am writing it for myself and my sister that invented the stories back when we were kids.  I hope others appreciate it too but really I just want to give the story the time it deserves.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

This year has been great for my artistic ventures.  I have really enjoyed the cons, had the most successful MCM ever and now I also have a gallery exhibition on the horizon.

This picture was drawn not only to celebrate the new year but also to commemorate the new year of Royal.

Lately I have been rather busy with a new job in teaching and also getting 18 new pieces ready for my exhibition Reflective Rhythms, but when the new year comes I shall commence work on Royal.  James is prepared and ready to go with a few stories and I am well on my way to re-creating the original Royal to make it more like a comic.

The good news is that it will all also be free to read on this blog once it is created.

This year alone I have drawn 236 new finished pictures and there is still a good few days to go yet.  Hopefully next year will be just as creative.

A big thank you to all of you again!

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Pola

Having no depth perception means Pola has to get up close
and personal.  One of many reasons he is feared.

Pola

Out of the main cast in Royal, Pola is the one I always have had issue defining, but after a lot of messing around I finally settled on this image.

I wanted him to look craggy and monstrous but also retain a "bloke" image, as after all he is just another person in the crowd.

Grafted Guys

Janet by Alexis
Last week I announced that Alexis Alseymoure and I are now creative partners.  As of tomorrow we are getting serious with our partnership now known as: Grafted Guys.

A dumb but fun name, two guys grafting their talents to produce some sexy, cool and disturbing creations.  Tomorrow another blog is going up under the name Grafted Guys and there you shall see things start to appear.  There you will see concept art, a new webcomic and Royal previews and even some drawing tutorials.

So watch this space as tomorrow Grafted Guys will be launched!

Creative Partnership

One thing I learnt in writing, drawing and printing my own comic was that it was an awful lot of work.  Time consuming and punishing.

Due to this I spent my time seeking out other great artists.  I found an few and have a few shorts with other artists working on them, however there was one artist that I found an affinity with.  I am now pleased to announce that Alexis Alseymoure and I are now creative partners!

All the art used here is from ROUGH test pages.  This is by no means the finished artwork (Also it won't feature in any story)  But it gives you a small teaser of what is to come o so very soon.  They all depict Pola, Janet or both of them.  Pola has changed somewhat in appearance since then, he is too charming here.

Exciting I know!!!

He sent me a few test pages with my characters in it and agreed to not only be the artist for a short but the whole of the next book that I have now written, "Royal: Luck o' the Irish" featuring Janet and her past.  It offers a greater insight into Janet and also throws in much more twisted horror than even Royal.  I literally cannot wait and I am the guy that wrote it.

Also if that wasn't enough I am also working on another project with Alexis Alseymoure, a web comic that is a smaller story than Royal.  Following one young lady and her daily life in a post-apocalyptic world.  Think mad-max but without guns, much more violence, mutants and a truckload of sexy and enough darkness to make Mr. Bear lock himself in a closet.

I really feel that I have met a perfect match for my creativity and we both feel that we are going to get a ton out of this partnership.

Expect loads of new stuff to be hitting this space soon:

Including:

A new comic blog - Very soon

Royal: Jobless - A free to read short - within the next week

A new and extensive webcomic: by webcomic I don't mean short funnies but a full length comic to be released on the web - Within a week or two

Royal Cocktail Guide: A guide to the finest cocktails in Royal  - To be printed published for October MCM

Royal: Luck o the Irish - To be printed published for October MCM

Lots of funky new sexy art! - Ongoing XD

Yep so a lot is happening!

Watch this space.

Royal: Update and Taster

During the age of about 11 to 17 I constantly drew, with no study or skill, making up my own stories all set in one universe.  My sister and best pal contributed and that world grew and grew.  For seven years it remained untouched and in stasis as I got on with life and knuckled down with my career and study.

Now that I actually have learnt how to produce good artwork and have put all my sweat and tears into it, I feel like I owe the child in me to dedicate some time to myself.

Enter Royal.

Set hundreds of years from now, Royal is built upon the long dead remains of London after a vast nuclear Apocalypse, which wiped out most of the worlds population.  Two hundred years on Royal is ruled by a tyrannical family, known only as the Royals.  They claim a birthright to the land and rule it with an iron fist.  Corruption is rife and every life has a price.

Pola is a hitman.   Born and raised in Royal he has seen all the city has to offer, having lost most close to him over the years only two people remain.  After Janet, his flatmate, goes mysteriously missing he knows something is wrong and will not stop until she is found again.

Below is the preview taster, feel free to give it a look.

The comic will be available for purchase some time this December.
