Pink and Yellow

A gift for a friend for helping me out, setting tables, sorting galleries and selling my merchandise.

T-Shirts and stickers wouldn't have happened without her aid.

Royal: Aldercy

Aldercy the disfigured beauty.  Crazed and troubled, she sits alone on her throne high above Royal spreading her influence from afar.

Looming Danger

Lately as you know I have been drawing from a lot of 50's pulp science fiction artwork.

This was a brief doodle, turned line-art from that.

National Beard Day

Apparently today is national beard day.

I don't know who comes up with these days and weeks, but here is a tribute to it anyway.

A little Touch Up

The curse of being an artist is that your work never ever seems finished, or at least after a few days you grow to hate it.  Yesterday I went back to a picture I finished six days ago.  I disliked it so much I re-worked it for a few hours.

I reshaped the face, put more detail into the eyes and smoothed out the colouration of the skin.  The whole face just needed more focus and vibrancy.

Lacerations: Front Cover

Mr. Hartley has given me the task of designing the cover to his first story: Lacerations.  After having read the first draft of a few chapters this is the design I have come up with.  he wanted the front cover to be a shot of the character and her mood.

I think ditching the rather comic-book make-up was a great move as it makes her much more believable.  I wanted her to be bare as it reflects her life story through the scars and tattoos on her body.  She needed to look plain, depressed, unhinged and most importantly very dangerous, without needed to show weapons.  These two factors combined take the typical exploitation of a pin-up and turn it into something with much more character.

The blood reflects her violent life, whilst the colour represents the cost of such a lifestyle.  Overall I am pretty pleased with it and I feel that it is one of my more detailed and refined works.

Scrapheap Babe #1

From time to time, like many other artists I get propositioned to do work for little or no pay.  Most of the time I simply turn the offer down.  Yet, sometimes I get a client who has such a nice personal idea and can pay a little up front, that I work for them at a reduced rate.

This piece I drew up for them for a small fee but on the condition that I can show it off and also sell prints of it.  The only other time I did this was my Nightmare piece a few years back.

This is one of three.  The colours were picked by the client to match the décor of his home.  I am still working on the other two.

Aldercy: Dead

A quick portrait drawn for a personal project.

It looks awful on a large scale, but it is intended to be used about this size.

Zombicide

I bought Zombicide after the International Games Day.

Here are two drawings for 2 of my scenarios.

Valkyrie

The VALKYRIE for Sketch Dailies. I really enjoyed doing this!

Both this and OFF LIFE have been great drawing challenges. I would highly encourage any budding artist to try their hand at them, even if just for yourself.

Girl

Before I went to sleep I was going to draw a simple line art piece, then goaded by my pal Paul I decided to colour it.  I was going to pack it in on a number of occasions but he kept pushing me to finish it and not to scrap it, so I did.

If I ever needed a personal trainer I think he would have to be the man for the job.

Work in progress.

The final piece.

Looks much better as a thumbnail.

Portraits

A selection of portraits that I did a while back for various people.

Colouring Sheets

A long while ago I was approached by thecolouringbook.org and asked if I would supply some line work for adults to print off and colour.  Colouring some people find therapeutic, therefore it is good for those with dementia, cognitive impairment, depression and many more.

I had a look at their page and it hadn't had any new content.  Now in most cases that means a site is dead, but I would hate not to have helped when I could have done, so I submitted these designs for their gallery.  Hopefully they will go on to be coloured by people that need them.
