Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

This year has been great for my artistic ventures.  I have really enjoyed the cons, had the most successful MCM ever and now I also have a gallery exhibition on the horizon.

This picture was drawn not only to celebrate the new year but also to commemorate the new year of Royal.

Lately I have been rather busy with a new job in teaching and also getting 18 new pieces ready for my exhibition Reflective Rhythms, but when the new year comes I shall commence work on Royal.  James is prepared and ready to go with a few stories and I am well on my way to re-creating the original Royal to make it more like a comic.

The good news is that it will all also be free to read on this blog once it is created.

This year alone I have drawn 236 new finished pictures and there is still a good few days to go yet.  Hopefully next year will be just as creative.

A big thank you to all of you again!

Have a very Merry Christmas!

Enigma

This portrait has taken me two months to finish, which is way over the time I would normally spend on a picture.

It is of a pal of mine.  Despite being a complete enigma that we shall never understand, myself and those that know her would agree, she is the most honest and genuine person out there.  Despite the hardships she faces, she is always there to help those around her.  A true gift.

Here is a portrait to commemorate her.

"My focus is to dedicate myself to those around me and improve their quality of life. If I can do this I can die happy."

"There is no point in worrying about what is outside of your grasp.  Focus on the small things, what you can change, make your way through life in small constant steps, not random leaps and crashes."

Girl

Before I went to sleep I was going to draw a simple line art piece, then goaded by my pal Paul I decided to colour it.  I was going to pack it in on a number of occasions but he kept pushing me to finish it and not to scrap it, so I did.

If I ever needed a personal trainer I think he would have to be the man for the job.

Work in progress.

The final piece.

Looks much better as a thumbnail.

Saturday Morning Art Session

I thought it would be a change occasionally to post some photos of works in progress, so here's the first lot!

Drawing in my study, with the added company of my 'study buddy', Jessie the cat.

Work in progress...

Pause N' Paint #2+3

The second and third Pause N' Paint Pieces!

What a tongue twister.  Two speed paints, 100% impressionistic.  I prefer the second but which do you prefer?

Oh also what is the film?

One clue: Statham

Pause N' Paint #1

Inspired by my pal James Stayte, my regular watching of movies and Vincent Ramos' Pause and Paint.  I decided to start digi-painting scenes from some of the films I watch.  Granted I spent too long on my first one, it isn't a finished piece but it isn't a complete speed paint either.

So here is my first, guess what it is and win a virtual cookie!

Mr. Snood

A commissioned piece of Mr. Snood the Turkey.

In the end my artwork wasn't used and they went with another choice instead which you can see over at TurkeyTales.

Sphinx

She was at first much less human, then this happened, it all got a little weird and out of hand.

Drawn for a Project I am working on at the moment.
